The Project

Colegio CEU San Pablo Valencia is a benchmark for educational excellence in Spain. As part of the CEU group—the largest private educational institution in the country—the Valencia campus is committed to innovation, internationalization, and digital transformation. To match its “School of the Future” vision, the institution required a modern access control solution that could provide high-level security for its faculty and staff while remaining flexible enough to adapt to a bustling campus environment.

The project involved the digitalization of 161 access points throughout the school’s facilities. By choosing Luckey by Sofia (part of ISEO), Colegio CEU Valencia has embraced a cloud-native approach that places the school at the forefront of educational PropTech.

Operational Efficiency The transition to a cloud-based system has allowed Colegio CEU Valencia to centralize its security. Administrators can manage the 161 locks from a single web dashboard, significantly reducing the time spent on key management and auditing.

Scalable Innovation The Easy System provides a high-performance foundation that can grow with the school. As the campus expands or user needs change, the Luckey platform allows for seamless updates to the user base or hardware configuration without requiring new infrastructure.

A Modern User Experience By removing the friction of physical keys, the school has improved the daily experience for its staff. The ability to use a smartphone as a credential reinforces Colegio CEU’s identity as a leader in digital adoption and modern educational management.

To match its “School of the Future” vision, the institution required a modern access control solution that could provide high-level security for its faculty and staff while remaining flexible enough to adapt to a bustling campus environment.

The project involved the digitalization of 161 access points throughout the school’s facilities. By choosing Luckey by Sofia (part of ISEO), Colegio CEU Valencia has embraced a cloud-native approach that places the school at the forefront of educational PropTech. Educational institutions present a unique logistical challenge: hundreds of doors, varying access levels for different departments, and the constant risk of lost physical keys. Colegio CEU Valencia needed a solution that could address:

• Infrastructure Constraints: The school required a system that could be deployed quickly without invasive wiring or expensive gateway installations.
• Simplified Management: With 130 users currently active, the administrative team needed a way to grant and revoke permissions instantly.

• Hybrid Credentials: While moving toward a digital-first approach with smartphones, the school still required support for traditional RFID cards for specific staff members.

Main Features

Colegio CEU Valencia opted for the Luckey Easy System architecture. This choice was strategic, prioritizing ease of installation and operational agility. The deployment consists of 161 Argo-compatible smart locks, which are battery-operated and communicate via Bluetooth. This “Easy” architecture offers several key advantages for a school environment:

• Smart Card Integration: The system currently manages 124 RFID cards. In the Easy System, these cards provide a reliable secondary access method. While cards are updated via the first smartphone opening of the day, they provide a familiar and robust solution for all staff levels.

• Zero-Impact Installation: Because the locks do not require gateways or wired power, the 161 smart locks were installed with zero disruption to the school’s daily academic activities.

• Smartphone-Centric Access: The 130 users (primarily faculty and administrative staff) can open doors using the Luckey App on their smartphones. This ensures that security travels with the user, eliminating the “lost key” security risk.
