Office mode: the new feature that makes it easier to manage the flow of people

The office mode is the latest feature released by our product development team, to simplify the management of the flow of people accessing company spaces.

The office mode has been developed to meet the different needs of the users in workplace environments, that is:

  • Simplify the access of users in the building and the offices;
  • Increase the autonomy of the users, which could manage access to offices with personalized modes;
  • Increase the security of the building, thanks to the automatic closure of the gates outside office hours;
  • Increase the freedom of movement between spaces;
  • Facilitate the access to the spaces and the resources available.

The office mode allows to set up two different and customized programs on the lock, so that the door can open and stay so for all the duration of the program and then close automatically at the end. Each program foresees different behavior along with the different needs:

  1. Office Mode with Automatic Closing (called Semi-automatic)
  2. Office Mode with Automatic Activation and Automatic Folding
  3. Office Mode with Automatic Activation and Automatic Closing with the First Entry

Below we will analyze the three different behaviors, we will see how to create a program, and how to synchronize it in the lock memory.

How to create a program for the office mode

Creating a program for office mode is really simple and intuitive. To activate it you need to go to the Locks section of the Luckey App, select the lock and click on the office mode section, as shown in the image below. Within this section you can:

  • Create two different programs for the office mode;
  • Select the users allowed to activate the office mode;
  • Check the update status of the programs on the lock.

It is therefore possible to set up the type of program, the activation mode, and the time slots during which the program will be active.

Office Mode with Automatic Closing (called Semi-automatic)

Semi-automatic office mode requires that the program is activated manually on the lock by a user and that the lock closes automatically at the set time. The number of users who can make the activation can be selected in the “Authorized Users” section and, for security reasons, all Manager users are enabled to deactivate office mode by default.

The automatic office mode

The automatic office mode requires the lock to open and close automatically during the times and days set by the program, remaining open for the duration of the program. In this mode, opening and closing take place without any action being required by the user.

Office Mode with Automatic Activation and Automatic Closing with the First Entry

This mode is similar to the automatic one, but has a substantial difference: the program is activated only after the first user has successfully opened the door of the building in the indicated time slot, for example, the first user who arrives at the office in the morning. Once the program is activated, the door remains open for the duration and then closes automatically at the set time.

The manual deactivation

Office mode can always be disabled manually via the mobile application. If a user deactivates it, the program still remains registered inside the lock and reactivates automatically or at the first access or according to the settings chosen. You can always select which users can perform these actions from the “Authorized Users” section of the control panel and, for security reasons, all Manager users are enabled to disable this mode by default.
